John Day, Oregon
Grant County, in north-central Oregon, is an area of ranching, timber, fishing, hunting, winter sports and tourist attractions. Its world-renowned John Day Fossil Beds National Monument contains 40 millions years of fossilized history.

While the county seat is Canyon City, the largest town is John Day, incorporated in 1888. There are many smaller communities within the county. Those who live and play here pride the area on its wide open spaces, laid-back pace, natural resources and privacy.
Other communities are Kimberly, Dayville, Mt. Vernon, Prairie City, Granite, Long Creek, Fox, Monument, and Seneca.
