Fall Harvest Festival at Bose Family Farm

The Bose Family farm has a massive corn maze that stretches out over ten whole acres. Each year they have a different theme for their corn mazes and provide challenges to complete for rewards. For example, in 2014 the extra challenge was to find all of the punch stations hidden throughout the maze in order to enter for a chance to win half of a hog. These rewards in addition to the simple family atmosphere make it an excellent place to bring the family to for a good days worth of fun.

Fruit Loop

Harvest Season along the Fruit Loop By Pat Snider

No, the Fruit Loop is not the name of a candy treat, a Carmen Miranda earring, or a ride at the state fair. It's a 35-mile scenic meander through the fruit orchards, small towns, and back roads of the Hood River Valley. Located about 45 minutes east of Portland by way of the Columbia Gorge, and directly south of the town of Hood River, the area is Oregon's largest fruit growing region. Over thirty percent of the nation's winter pears are harvested here, along with a variety of apples, berries, peaches, and cherries.

Jump for Joy Farm

One of the amazing things about living in Oregon is you are 30 minutes from the countryside, barring traffic, no matter where you are.

This is where you will find Jump for Joy Farm, outside of Portland on the East side. The 27-acre farm not only features full equestrian riding and boarding services, it’s also a great place for people of all ages to learn about life on the farm, interact with a variety of farm animals, and gain skills in urban farming and homesteading.

Lillie Belle Farms

The chocolate store, located on Highway 99, or North Front Street in Central Point, opened its current location a few years ago to take advantage of what business owners in the area call an “artisan grouping.” Lillie Belle is located next to Rogue Creamery (who built the building for him) and it has big windows where you can watch Shepherd make his confections.
